THE LORD’S PRAYER
Matthew 6:9-13

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.

JESUS’ PRAYER IN THE GARDEN OF GETHSEMENE
John 17:1-20---Y HVH Bible

Jesus Prays for Himself
1.  These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify your Son, that your Son also may glorify you:
2.  As you have given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as you have given him.
3.  And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true YHVH (Yahavah), and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
4.  I have glorified you on the earth: I have finished the work which you gave me to do.
5.  And now, O Father, glorify you me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world was.

Jesus prays for His Disciples
6.  I have manifested your name unto the men which you gave me out of the world: they were yours, and you gave them me; and they have kept your word.
7.  Now they have known that all things whatsoever you have given me is of you.
8.  For I have given unto them the words which you gave me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from you, and they have believed that you did send me.
9.  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which you have given me; for they are yours.
10.  And all mine are yours and yours are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11.  And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to you. Holy Father, keep through your own name those whom you have given me, that they may be one, as we [are one in Your Spirit].
12.  While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name: those that you gave me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13.  And now I come to you; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14.  I have given them your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15.  I pray not that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil.
16.  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17.  Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth.
18.  As you have sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19.   And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Jesus Prays for All Believers
20.Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21.  That they all may be one; as you, Father, [are] in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22.  And the glory which you gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23.  I in them and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have loved me.
24.  Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world.
25.  Righteous Father, the world has not known you: but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me.
26.  And I have declared unto them your name, and will declare [it]: that the love wherewith you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Prayer in Accordance
with the Spirit of YHVH

HOW TO PRAY

These two prayers are probably the most important prayers in the entire Bible from which to learn how to pray.

Using these and the Prayers of the Bible page to study, a person can gain a deep understanding of what kind of prayer YHVH wants from his saints.

Prayer can be in the form of worship, supplication, or simply crying out for help.

Romans 8:26-28 as read in accordance with the whole context including appropriate translation changes in verse 27.
"26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our weakness: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit himselfself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And searches the heart to know what is the inclination (carnal or spiritual) of the spirit for which he intercedes on behalf of the saints by (the will of) Theos (YHVH Elohim).  28 And we know that in all things God (Greek-Theos and Hebrew -YHVH) works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
In verse 26--"weakness" is the same as verse 27--"inclination of the spirit"

What did Jesus say about prayer?

Luke 18:1-10 (NASB)--Parables on Prayer
1 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, 2 saying, "In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man.
3 "There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.'  4 "For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man,  5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.'"
6 And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge said;  7 now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?
8 "I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"

Luke 21:33-37
33 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.  34 "Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap;  35 for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth. 36"But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man."

Hold firm until death or the appearance of the Son of Man on a cloud, whichever comes first.

What did the Apostles say about prayer?

2 Thessalonians 1:6-12
"6 For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,  8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.  9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,  10 when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed--for our testimony to you was believed. 11 To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ."

For myself, prayer is conversation with my Father in Heaven.  There are no subjects held secret from him because he already knows the deepest parts of my soul.

YHVH and Jesus are persons.  They want an invitation to be part of each persons life and when they are, they want to be acknowledged by asking for YHVH's wisdom, councel in everything, understanding, knowledge, strength to get you through.  A true and lasting relationship with Father and Son comes through acceptance of the Son, Jesus.  Accept that he is the Son of YHVH and what he did on the cross to afford you this opportunity for eternal life with him.

CAUTION:
There are those who are trying to get the saints to turn their prayers into Eastern Religion type meditation, which happens to be far from YHVH and Jesus.  That kind of prayer is not in accordance with the Spirit of YHVH.  Do not listen to the mysticism teachings. It is no better than ancient hellenization.

The Bible tells us exactly what YHVH wants us to know about the important things and it tells us how to do what he wants us to do.  You want to know how to pray?  Ask YHVH and he will direct you by his indwelling Spirit.  But, you must be born-again to receive the indwelling.
